Announcing the IPCRG Research School 2025: an introduction to implementation science studies in primary care
The IPCRG is running a new Research School introducing implementation science studies in primary care. We start with a free webinar open to all on 10 February 2025 with expert Lisa Hirschhorn, Professor, Northwestern University. Everyone with an interest in learning more about implementation science is welcome.
The webinar will include interaction with the audience and aims to cover:
- The value of implementation science
- An introduction to some of the frameworks
- Defining “the thing” that will be implemented and also the implementation strategies
- How does it differ from improvement science?
- Key tasks such as collaboration to identify barriers and enablers

Then, on 12 April 2025, our highly accomplished IPCRG faculty will lead a practical hands-on Research School in Brașov, Romania, in the afternoon immediately after the 8th IPCRG Scientific Meeting. Sessions include:
- Implementation Science in Practice - What do people think implementation science is? - Ee Ming Khoo, Honorary Professor, Universiti Malaya
- Implementation study designs, frameworks, context and types of evidence - Rianne van der Kleij, Associate Professor, Leiden University Medical Centre
- Knowledge translation: Reporting implementation science studies to inform the provision of health services - Hilary Pinnock, Professor, University of Edinburgh
- Critical appraisal of implementation studies workshop: In groups critically appraise a paper to bring together learning from the course - Facilitated by Amanda Farley, Associate Professor, University of Birmingham and the faculty.

8th IPCRG Scientific Meeting: Join the international respiratory primary care research community in Brașov!
If you are interested in respiratory primary care research, then you will want to join the 8th IPCRG Scientific Meeting in Brașov, Romania, on Friday 11 and Saturday 12 April 2025. This is your opportunity to network with international colleagues engaged in respiratory research and developments in primary care. The meeting is organised in conjunction with RespiRO and the Transilvania University of Braşov and registration and abstract submissions are now open. Everyone interested in primary care respiratory research is welcome, particularly early career researchers.
