Teach the Teacher: Costa Rica

IPCRG's Teach the Teacher model is an innovative educational approach in respiratory care, building international, national and local networks of primary care clinicians and educators and developing educational capacity in addition to knowledge, skills and practice for diagnosis and management of childhood asthma.

Our May 2024 Teach the Teacher workshop in Costa Rica was attended by 32 delegates, who took vacations, arranged work permits and closed their consultations to make themselves available - reflecting a high interest in being part of change in clinical practice and education in asthma care. The two-day workshop produced six proposals for further initiatives in Costa Rica, focused on education for patients, HCPs and PCPs.
