RESPIRE Annual Scientific Meeting 2024

The ASM for the RESPIRE research collaboration took place from 26-30 August hosted by Prof Savi and colleagues who many of you know, and co-chaired by co-Principal Investigator and former IPCRG President Ee Ming Khoo. It has showcased the programme's latest outputs and the hard work of IPCRG colleagues from Pakistan, Bangladesh, Malaysia and Sri Lanka alongside researchers from India, Indonesia and Bhutan. Our CEO Siân Williams and Ruth McQuillan (University of Edinburgh) delivered a new RESPIRE leadership school, developed with Genevie Fernandes and Hana Mahmood - two alumni from the first leadership school run by IPCRG! Siân also led a session on business engagement, and together with Genevie and Kay Nathan from our Malaysian group ran workshop sessions on stakeholder engagements. The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Secretary, Ministry of Health and other senior health and environment policy and tertiary education figures, demonstrating the importance of our research to Sri Lanka.
