World Asthma Day 2024: Asthma Education Empowers

Our World Conference is held in the same week as World Asthma Day, organised by the Global Initiative for Asthma (GINA). There are plenty of sessions that support this year’s theme of ‘Asthma Education Empowers’:

• Ayşe Arzu Yorgancıoğlu from Turkey will share GINA’s latest updates and debates in Session 5: Hot topics in primary respiratory care.
• Workshop 6 will feature Asthma Right Care - Success Stories
• Workshop 3 will demonstrate an innovative way to teach Asthma Right Care through technology - using an escape room programme.
• In session 9 Bernardo Sousa-Pinto (Portugal) will present on the impact of climate change on allergic rhinitis and asthma alongside Jean Bousquet (France) who will share a new guideline: the ARIA approach (the latest evidence, and the value of crowd-sourced data). These talks will be followed by an interactive panel discussion to explore how to optimise the primary care team time and supported self-management in a year-in-the-life of primary practice.
