Queen's Birthday Honours List 2022

We would like to congratulate our colleagues in RESPIRE who have been recognised in the Queen's Birthday Honours list 2022. The Queen's Birthday Honours mark the extraordinary contributions and service of people across the UK.

Professor Aziz Sheikh, the previous Editor-in-Chief of our journal and co-lead of RESPIRE 1, has been awarded a knighthood for services to COVID-19 research and policy, leading international research collaborations over the course of the pandemic. Dr. Ruth McQuillan has been awarded an MBE for services to science during COVID-19, and Professor Harry Campbell received an MBE for services to international child health and global public health. Ruth and Harry have been part of the team of UNCOVER (Usher Network for COVID-19 Evidence Reviews) that we have used for our iQ&A programme.

Ruth says she considers her award to be a recognition of the whole UNCOVER team of Harry, Evi, Emilie, Marshall, Gwenetta, Neneh, Harish, Florance, Simon and all the countless other staff and the more than 100 students that make UNCOVER.
