Dr Habib Ghedira
Prof. Habib Ghedira is a Medical Doctor specializing in Pulmonology and Allergology. He served as a Teaching Professor at the Faculty of Medicine of Tunis, Tunisia, and was the Head of the Pulmonary Department at a leading teaching hospital until 2021.
Prof. Ghedira has dedicated his career to advancing public health and respiratory medicine and played a pivotal role in numerous public health initiatives, including serving as the President/CEO of the National Office of Family and Population.
Currently, Prof. Ghedira continues his clinical practice at his private clinic in Tunis while maintaining an active role in scientific research and advocacy and has been instrumental in shaping asthma management guidelines for Africa and the Middle East.
Prof. Ghedira is the President and Founder of the Association for the Promotion of Pulmonology and Allergology (APPA) and coordinates the Tunisian Asthma Right Care Group. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications in the field of pulmonary diseases, further solidifying his reputation as a thought leader in respiratory medicine.
As an active member of the International Primary Care Respiratory Group (IPCRG), Prof. Ghedira serves on the Research Leadership Committee and the Validation & Translation Group, providing translation and validation services in French and Arabic to support IPCRG’s global initiatives.
In collaboration with Sian Williams, CEO of IPCRG, Prof. Ghedira will co-chair the 13th IPCRG Worldwide Congress and the 1st North-African Interdisciplinary Respiratory Forum, scheduled for June 11-14, 2026, in Tunis, Tunisia. This landmark event will bring together experts from around the world to advance respiratory care and foster interdisciplinary collaboration.
